Education & Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is typically the minimum educational attainment required for the job

Must Have

Knowledge of various types of alcohol, including different brands and how to mix and serve different types of drinks
Strong customer service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent service
Good memory and the ability to multitask, as bartenders often have to remember multiple drink orders at once
Physical stamina, as the job may involve standing for long periods of time
A flexible schedule, as many bartending jobs are in the evening or on weekends
